Launch of Partnership between BizWorld Ireland and the Local Enterprise Office, Limerick


A new partnership between BizWorld Ireland and the Local Enterprise Office, Limerick will be launched next Monday, 7th September, at 12.30pm at City Hall, Merchant’s Quay, Limerick, by the Mayor of Limerick City and County, Cllr. Liam Galvin.


BizWorld Ireland is a national organisation that promotes entrepreneurship skills amongst young people.  It delivers workshops for children aged 10 to 13, teaching them about money management, critical thinking and enterprise in fun and creative ways.


2015 will mark the third year that the Local Enterprise Office in Limerick has supported BizWorld Ireland.  At Monday’s launch, the two organisations will outline their joint programme for the coming academic year.  Some pupils from Gaelscoil Sairséal, Bridge Street, Limerick, who participated in BizWorld Ireland workshops earlier this year, will attend the launch.  Also in attendance will be:


  • Fiona McKeon, CEO of BizWorld Ireland.
  • Éamon Ryan, Head of Enterprise at the Local Enterprise Office, Limerick.
  • Maeve Liston, Director of Enterprise and Community Engagement, Mary Immaculate College.


Commenting in advance of the launch, Fiona McKeon, CEO of BizWorld Ireland, said: “We are delighted to be returning to Limerick for the third year in a row – to offer our entrepreneurship workshops to Limerick school-children.  We have a really exciting programme of activities lined up for the coming school year, and we look forward to delivering this in partnership with the Local Enterprise Office, Limerick.”

The Local Enterprise Office, Limerick is a first-stop-shop to provide support and services to help start, grow and develop micro and small businesses.  The office was formed in 2014 and is part of a national network of Local Enterprise Offices.
